Coach Matthew Rantala has been running since his mother (wisely) refused to let him go out for football as a high school freshman in 1984. That initial disappointment, however, led to discovering a life-long sport of running when he ended up running Cross Country instead. While he wasn’t very fast, he discovered that running through the woods, up and down hills, and generally mucking around in the mud was a whole lot of fun.

Over 30 years later, he still is still running for both physical and psychological fitness, racing, and still think getting muddy is a pretty good time.
